Hi Families,

I am LOVING this warmer December!!  It makes for a nice outdoor performance Friday 🙂

Just a few items on our upcoming performances/classes…
Today and Tomorrow – regular classes at regular times
Friday – Farmington Station Park – Outdoor (Dress Warm!! Do not wear your costumes…Wear coats, hats and gloves to stay warm! Please no snow boots.) Meet near the ice rink.  We will most likely be performing on risers near the front of the Twigs restaurant.  They have not given me the exact location yet.

  • Roll call time 5:45pm for Tiny Tones, Young Uns, Expressions (SP & SS see below). 6:00 Performance Time.  I would love to have any Spotlight or Soundsation performers that are available come perform at this time! I know it was not on the calendar, so if you have other plans – that is fine.
  • Roll call time 6:15pm for Forte, Ovation, Dynamics. 6:30 Performance time.  Are there any parents that would be willing to meet these groups? We just need someone to give them their show orders and walk them to the stage area at 6:30 for the performance. (I will already be there with the first performance group.)

December 15th, Monday – Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  All Classes. Roll call 4:30. 5:00Performance time.  Full costume, make-up and hair.  I know this is a difficult time…please just get here as quick as you can!  (Our family makes a night of it – we bundle up and see the lights after our performances.)

We do get free parking under the conference center for vehicles with a performerIn order to get the free parking you MUST stop and give your performers name to the Conference Center parking attendant as you arrive to receive a token.

Please gather in the hall northeast in the lobby.  They ask that we leave enough room for others to walk past and converse quietly as other events may be going on in adjacent areas.  We perform on the mezzanine level.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  See you this week!!

Performance – Friday!!

September 16th, 2014

Our FIRST performance for the year is this Friday, Sept 19th at the Clearfield Amphitheater at 6:00pm.   Roll call is 5:30 – please be prompt!  The rehearsal time before the show is vital, we do not schedule a full dress rehearsal for this performance, this is the only opportunity we get to work with the kids on places.

Our “Spotlight” kids will be helping with the younger classes backstage, but we still need parents to be there for when they are on stage.  If you have already volunteered….THANK YOU! We still need more volunteers.  You WILL be able to watch your child perform, then you can be with their class backstage.  We ask that each parent with students under 12 years old, take at least ONE opportunity to be backstage sometime during the performance year.  Please email me ASAP if you would be able to help out.

We will meet at Clearfield Amphitheater 800 E 650 S, behind the library.  In case of inclement weather, please check our web page or your email.  I have been watching the weather for Friday, it currently shows a 40% chance of rain.  We do not have an indoor back-up for this year.  So this is the plan….if at ALL possible – the show must go on!

Unless it is just crazy, plan on attending.  Bring your umbrella’s and blankets. Feel free to bring a picnic for after the performance, however, it may be a bit chilly.

  1. Roll call for all performers will be 5:30pm. Students MUST wear a new for this year CC shirt and DARK LEVI’S and dark shoes. (No Sandals or flip flops. Character shoes and ballet shoes are fine.) If your student does not get a shirt in class this week, they will be handed out at the performance.  If you do not get yours in class, please come a few min early to the performance and change there (the colors are maroon and dark grey.)
  2. Feel free to invite family and friends to this FREE event.  It is meant as a very informal performance, but the kids LOVE to have people there cheering them on.
  3. HAVE STUDENTS USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE COMING.  We have a SHORT program for this performance, if we take restroom breaks they may miss a majority of their songs.
  4. ALL Girls need to have their hair pulled back from their faces.   It can be left long in back or pulled in a pony tail, but the front MUST be secured. Girls, light make-up is suggested: mascara, blush and lipstick.

If we do have to cancel, we will arrange a small “class performance” for each class during their regular class times the following week.  In short….pray for us 🙂  The kids have worked SO hard, and are so excited to show you what they have been working on!!
